Alberta Joyce Rives Robinson
January 27, 1929 — April 13, 2009
Alberta Joyce Rives Robinson passed away Monday morning, April 13, 2009, following a long struggle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, D. Thomas Robinson; her parents, Olive Mae Lassalle & Albert Hawkins Rives; her siblings, Olive Moreton & Stephen Rives and one nephew, Andrew Moreton.
Born on January 27, 1929, in Atlanta, GA, she worked for Lockheed in Marietta, GA for more than 30 years.
She leaves behind a daughter, Mary Susan Rorabaugh in Long Beach and 8 grandchildren, Matthew, Charlie, John, Joyce, Rosemary, Ben, Daniel, & Kathy Rorabaugh; in addition to 5 nieces and 5 nephews.
The family is especially grateful to the tender assistance physically, emotionally, and spiritually of the kind people of Canon Hospice in Gulfport, who greatly comforted Joyce and her family in the last 5 months of her life.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the Long Beach City Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, Music Ministry, 141 Main Street, Bay St. Louis, MS 39520.
