Della Alberta Cuevas Ferguson, age 86 and a resident of Gulfport, went Home to be with Jesus on Friday, May 30, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Ferguson was born on March 8, 1922 and lived most of her life in the Lizana Community in Gulfport and was brought up in St. AnnaÌââ¢s Catholic Church. Mrs. Ferguson worked most of her life until she became a mother. She was employed with Mac Smith Garment Factory in Gulfport. She and her husband managed the Lufkin CafAÌ© in Lufin, TX. She was a strong believer in God, a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, and mother. She was always there to help anyone in need by lending a hand, giving advice, or listen to someones problems and never complained. She always put God first in her life at the beginning of each day.
Mrs. Ferguson is preceded in death by her parents, Oville & Ella Lizana Cuevas, her husband, John W. Ferguson; her six brothers, Eldon Cuevas, Eugene (Edna Moran) Cuevas, Europe (Lucille Ladner) Cuevas, Eulius (Ruby Williams) Cuevas, Julius Cuevas, Ulvin (Marie Northrup) Cuevas, Ulmer (Floy Ladner) Cuevas; her three sisters, Viola Cuevas (Franklin) Moran, Permilla aÌâÅJackaÌâ Cuevas (Purvis) Ladner; her maternal grandparents, Zeno Cuevas and Marie Josephine Saucier; paternal grandparents, Henry S. Lizana and Andrazine Battle Lizana; her mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law, Mary T. Ferguson Nichols and W.H. Nichols, her father-in-law, W.O. Ferguson; her stepmother-in-law, Nettie Ferguson; her brother-in-law, Howard Ferguson and her sister-in-law, Ada Mae Lewis.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Hilda Ann Ferguson Reeter and her husband, David W. Reeter of Lizana; her three grandchildren, David Reeter, Jr., and his wife, Valine aÌâÅNickiaÌâ Denning Reeter, Jennifer Reeter Johnson and her husband, Clarence Johnson, III, John W. Reeter, and his wife, Angela Christy Reeter; her five great-grandchildren, Jaiden Reeter, Dalton Johnson, Wade Johnson, Waylon Johnson, and Jessica Reeter; her sister-in-law, Berle Ann Gault Cuevas; her stepbrother-in-law, Jesse Nichols and his wife, Barbara Nichols; her two stepsisters-in-law, Ida Nichols Reines, and her husband, Ronnie Reines, and Patricia Nichols; her three god-children, Mary Ann Deschamp, Elder Cuevas, Veronica Cuevas Albert and many nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2008 from 6-8pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 49 North in Gulfport.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2008 at 10:00am in the funeral home chapel. The Reverend Billy Thompson of Crossroads Community Church and Chaplain Kenneth Hembree of Trinity Hospice will be officiating. Burial will follow at Wolf River Cemetery in Gulfport.
