Albert Alexander Wicktom, Sr, age 88, of the Fenton community, died Monday, November 3, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mr. Wicktom was a native and lifelong resident of the Fenton community. He graduated from Kiln High School and Spencer Business College in New Orleans. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and was a retired longshoreman. He was a member of I.L.A. Local #1303 and was a member of Annunication Catholic Church. Mr. Wicktom enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Wicktom; his parents, Grant and Margaret Faye Wicktom; 2 brothers: Ben Wicktom and Clarence Wicktom; 2 sisters: Lillie Mae DiMaggio, Maude Hester, and Estelle Wictom.
Survivors include his 4 children and their spouses: Albert (Sandra) Wictom, Jr., Ann (Randall) Mauffray, James Roy (Mary) Wicktom, and Carol (Ramon) Faul; 7 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Friday at Annunciation Catholic Church, Kiln, MS where visitation will be from 10 - 11 am.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
Pallbearers will be Lt. Col. J. Troy Wicktom, USAF, Darren Mauffray, Barry Wicktom, Kirk Mauffray, Rebecca Faul Dowling, Kevin Mauffray, and Matt Faul.
