Albert Sidney Johnson

Albert Sidney Johnson, Jr., age 77, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2012.
Mr. Johnson was a resident of Gulfport. He had spent most of his childhood in the Saucier community. He was a local businessman for 50 years and he owned Hillcrest Farmer's Market. He had many business associates and friends.
He served as a deputy under Larkin Smith and Joe Price and in the 1970s, he ran for Sheriff of Harrison County. Mr. Johnson was a member of Kenwood Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons, 2 sisters, 5 brothers and 1 grandson. Survivors include his 7 children, numerous grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, 1 brother and many loving relatives and friends in Golden Meadow, LA.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 7 at Kenwood Missionary Baptist Church, 12217 Old Hwy 49 in Gulfport. Burial will follow at Saucier Cemetery.
