Albert W. Daniels

Albert Woodward Daniels, Sr., age 76 and a resident of Kiln, died on Sunday, June 12, 2011, in Gulfport.
He took pride in being the baby of his family. He liked being protected and cared for by his older siblings. He had a childhood of pleasant memories that he often told and retold stories of to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was devoted to his wife and his children. Most important to him were family and faith. The values he wanted his children to have were love and respect for others.
Mr. Daniels worked for the Mississippi Forestry Commission for many years. He then sold produce locally where he was most at ease because he loved people and even more, loved to tell stories. He did not meet a stranger and he never let anyone go without. He will always be remembered for his kind heart.
Mr. Daniels is preceded in death by his parents, Jay Earl & Rosie Mitchell Daniels; his brothers, Earl, J.C., Jerome, and Ray Daniels and his sisters, Della Cooper, Inez Lambert, and Lucille Albritton.
He is survived by his loving and wife of 54 years, Marlene Hoda Daniels; his children, Albert W. Daniels, Jr., Katherine Daniels (Coon Ladner), Donna Davis, Melinda Rose (Steve), Melissa Guillot, Stevie Daniels (Kristie Gallagher), Wanda Flowers (Anthony), Rhonda Tyler (Alexander), and Randy Daniels (Angela Cuevas); his brother, Kenneth Daniels (Jerry); his sister, June Cooper; 25 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
The Recitation of the Rosary and a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at 7:00pm at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road in Pass Christian, where friends may visit beginning at 5:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
