Alfred """"Al"""" Earl Garrett, age 73, of Long Beach, died Tuesday, August 28, 2007, in Biloxi.
Mr. Garrett was born in Salinas, CA, on February 7, 1934, the sixth child of the late Albert Lee and Beatrice Pollock Garrett. He was retired from the U. S. Navy and served in Korea and in Vietnam. He was a longtime resident of Long Beach and was employed at the Naval Retirement Home for 19 years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Garrett was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Robert, and Donald.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Barbara Garrett, of Long Beach; a son, Roy Lee Garrett, of Long Beach; a daughter, Karen Alline, of Slidell, LA; a brother, Roy Garrett, of Lubbock, TX; a sister, Geneva Birlem, of Eugene, OR; and five grandchildren, P. J. Alline, Garrett Alline, Victoria Alline, Mary Alline, and Nikki Garrett.
Visitation will be at THE RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road in
Biloxi, on Friday, August 31, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery in Biloxi.
