Agnes Mulford Bannister Cuevas, born in Morgan Town, MS. October 15, 1922, passed away Friday, November 27, 2009. She had been a resident of the Boyington Nursing Center for the past 17 months. Having lived on the coast and endured many hurricanes for the past 55 years, she was displaced after Katrina destroyed the Twin Oaks Assisted Living facility in Pass Christian. She was of the Baptist faith.
Ms. Cuevas was preceded in death by her Husband, Carl Cuevas, Gulfport Police Dept.(Retired), her (Father) Joseph Mulford, (Mother) Maude Smothers Dillard, (BrotheraÌââ¢s) J. P. and Cotton Mulford, and (Sister) Sally Mulford, and her daughter Patricia Leach.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Bannister Sr. and his wife Kathy, of Biloxi, and William M. Bannister of SunCity, Az. She was blessed with eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
She lived a remarkable 87 years and brought love and joy to her family and friends, teaching and learning all that life could offer. Memories of her are many and will be shared for years to come by the family tree she helped nourish.
Special thanks and appreciation is expressed for the tremendous care and love shown by the 300 Hall staff of The Boyington Nursing Center for aÌâÅMs. AggieaÌâ for the past 17 months. They are truly GodaÌââ¢s Angels to all they provide for.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 29, 2009 from 3-5pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Three Rivers, Gulfport. She will be laid to rest in the Mulford Family Plot, at the Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa, LA, on Monday, November 30, 2009, at 11am.
