Adrian Dominic De Saulles traveled home to meet Jesus Saturday, May 27, 2023, surrounded by his loving fiancé and daughters.
Adrian was the son of the late Bernard Ralph Norman De Saulles and Lillian Elsie Hayman De Saulles. He was born in Wimbledon, Surrey, United Kingdom, August 5, 1952, and died in Biloxi, Mississippi. After being diagnosed with Glioblastoma, Adrian fought a brave, but very short battle.
After high school, Adrian began his career as a Junior Fireman for the Surrey County Fire Brigade, September 9, 1968, at Reigate, Surrey, UK. This accelerated program was by invitation only, and was available for the most promising sixteen- to eighteen-year-old young men. After two years of extensive training in firefighting, he received a prestigious post at the Staines Fire Station at Heathrow Airport, London, August 1970.
By 1972, less than two years later, his best friend, Peter Mayhook, persuaded him to become a croupier for the Palm Beach Casino, London. This career change provided another opportunity to work at the International Sporting Club, also in London, from 1971 to 1973. From this point, he began his adventures by traveling to Iran for a short stint in the casino; he even dealt cards to the Shah of Iran and his family, thereby meeting lots of colorful characters along the way.
Returning to the London Casinos after Iran, he was enticed by his gaming friends to head to the Bahamas and begin working at the Paradise Island Casino from 1974 to 1986. He spent the next ten to twelve years in the Bahamas pursuing island life filled with boating, free-diving, spearfishing, and traveling to the U.S. mainland and the U.K.
Growing tired of the island life, Adrian returned to the New York to work at Atlantic City, New Jersey for a short period. He followed up with a year aboard the Norweigan Cruise Line to the eastern and western Caribbean Islands as a croupier.
A short stint followed in Washington State before being beckoned to the Biloxi Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1992 to help open the President Casino. Adrian fell in love with the Mississippi Gulf Coast and would remain here throughout the rest of his life by working at the Biloxi Grand Casino and retiring from the Beau Rivage Casino in September of 2018.
Adrian spent his last few years after retiring, working on his beautiful coastal home in the yard and entertaining family and friends with his fabulous gourmet cooking skills. He will always be remembered for his passion for living, storytelling, and his great sense of humor. His family and friends will carry him in our hearts forever.
Adrian is preceded in death by two of his brothers, David De Saulles and Anthony De Saulles.
He was one of three surviving brothers, one half sister and his twin sister, Fiona De Saulles, Salisbury, Wiltshire, U.K. Survivors include his loving fiancé Carole Marie; his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a multitude of friends.
