Ada Virginia Carter

Mrs. Ada Virginia Carter, age 73, resident of Long Beach, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011, at home with her family by her side.
Mrs. Carter was born in Bogalusa, LA, to John Collins Lee and Mamie Clark Lee. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Long Beach and the Friendship Oak Chapter of the D.A.R. ""Mrs. Virginia"" operated the switchboard at Riemann Funeral Homes for 32 years before retiring. She comforted countless families with professionalism and respect during their time of need. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Denzal ""Dink"" Carter; her parents; sister, Audrey Faye Perrette; and an infant sister, Billie Jane Lee.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Lee Williams of Long Beach, and Ellen Lydia Girouard (Mike) of Long Beach; her sister, Lydia Joyce Lee Fendlason of Bogalusa; grandchildren, Brooke Williams, Jimmy Williams, and Michael Girouard; and longtime companion, Dan Flanders of Long Beach.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, from 12 o'clock Noon until the service time at 2:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
