A.J. Cuevas, Jr., age 76, of Kiln passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, in Diamondhead.
Mr. Cuevas was a veteran of the United States Army. He served as Deputy of Hancock County Sheriff's Department for 32 years. He was a retired civil service employee with Keesler Air Force Base and was of the Catholic faith.
Mr. Cuevas enjoyed traveling, camping, farming, telling stories, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Avnel John Cuevas, Sr. and Dallie Cuevas; a brother, Neil Cuevas, and his son, Jay Cuevas.
He is survived by his brother, Mike Cuevas of Lakeshore, MS; his sister, Cheryl Necaise and her husband, Wilbur, of Necaise Crossing; his grandchildren, Lance Cuevas and his wife, Summer, and Jamie Cuevas, all of Kiln; one great grandchild, Brooklyn Cuevas; and his daughter in law, Patricia Cuevas of Kiln.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010, at 12:00 Noon at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd., Pass Christian, with visitation two hours prior to service. Burial will follow at Rotten Bayou Cemetery.
