Dr. Travis Quitman Richardson, age 83, of Gulfport, passed away on June 22, 2017 in Gulfport, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elgin Quitman Richardson and Ouida Dell (Spooner) Richardson; brother, Phillip Richardson; and his wives, Luree Lyons Richardson and Margaret Jones Richardson.
He is survived by his children, Brenda Safley and her husband Bill, Daniel Richardson and his wife Courtney, and Cindi Eads and her husband Jeff, all of Gulfport, MS; his siblings, Jeanette Wilkatis of Energy, IL, Esais Richardson of Grenada, MS, Robbie Free of Cleveland, TN and Miriam Guthrie of Florence, SC.; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren, three brothers in law, Mark Lyons, Moot Lyons and Bob Lyons, numerous nieces and nephews.
Dr. Richardson was a graduate of MS Delta Community College, Delta State University, University of MS Medical School, and Tulane Medical School.
Although his earthly accomplishments were great, he most wanted to be remembered for his love for God and for the love he had for his family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Delta State University at 1003 W. Sunflower Rd., Cleveland, MS 38733 or to Bayou View Baptist Church, 4709 Chamberlain Ave., Gulfport, MS 39507.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport at 10:00 am.
