Our very special angel, Tony Mathew Serrato, age 32, passed away Sunday, December 01, 2013.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Clement Earl Cuevas and Georgia Clarice Cuevas, as well as his great Aunt and Uncle, Albert and Rita Talbot.
He is survived in life by his parents, David and Pamela Serrato, his three brothers, Steven (Robin), Ryan and David Earl, his niece Bailee Anice Serrato and his nephew Evan Anthony Serrato, grandparents, Dave and Lois Serrato, aunt and uncle, Amy (J.C.) Green, uncle, Terry Cuevas, cousins, Kristen McCann, Kimberly Green, and Kourtney Green, and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Serrato family, his beloved puppy ""Boudreaux"", and his caring nurse and special buddy, Lisa Mercer.
Tony was a 2003 graduate of the Harrison County Child Development Center.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to his nurses Robin and Althea, his social worker, Michelle, Dr. David Reeves, Ben Barlow, his preacher, and the entire church family at The Well of First United Methodist Church Long Beach as well as the many people that has helped Tony his entire life. Red being Tony's favorite color, it is appropriate to wear something red in his honor.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made in his honor to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the Metachromatic Leukodystrophy Foundation, (www.MLD.org) or to further bone marrow transplant research.
Visitation will be from 9:30 - 11 am Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Long Beach. The service will begin at 11 am in the church. Interment will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
