Rhonda (Ronnie) Leigh Breland Compton of Saucier, MS, born July 24, 1963, passed from this word to her heavenly home on Friday, March 11, 2016. Ronnie's husband, Harold (Tink) Compton, her children Christy McMurphy, Hunter Compton, Reagan Davis (Criag), and especially her granddaughter, Colby Davis, were the apples of her eye. In Ronnie's own worlds, ""I've been married to my high school sweetheart, Tink, for 25 years, and he still treats me like a queen! We have three great kids and I have the cutest red-headed granddaughter in the world"".
Ronnie was born the second of four children, Debbie Reynolds (Pete), Doug Breland and Robin Krol (Doug), to Carol and Melvin Breland of Saucier.
Ronnie attended Harrison Central High School and was a member of the class of 1981. She was a Red Rebel from head to toe. Her passion for her school and friends was so obvious in her last facebook post, as she encouraged classmates to attend the 35th class reunion!
Ronnie also had another endearing quality...She was very patriotic, and truly loved America! Her son and her husband have made careers in military service, with several tours of duty in the Middle East.
With affinity for business courses at HCHS and MGCCC, Ronnie began training as a legal Secretary during her junior year with attorney, Eddie Miller, through a vocational co-op program, and has been employed with Franke and Salloum for the past 30 years.
While she was excellent in her office skills, Ronnie's greatest vocational accomplishment may have been her family's organization and management of the ""Haunted Trail"". It was through this year's project that tens of thousands of dollars were donated to The Child Abuse Prevention Center. Included in the Facilitation of this project were volunteering military personnel from Keesler Air Force Base. One of these Airmen made this quote: ""As military family, we started volunteering with this wonderful family and were treated with much love. We had a mama (Ronnie) in Mississippi when ours were so far away"".
One friend of Ronnie's recently commented, ""If you were ever her friend, you may as well have been her family!"" Next to God and her family, Ronnie's life revolved around her cherished friends.
