Ronald Hanna

July 14, 1966 — July 14, 2020

Biloxi

Ronald Patrick Hanna passed away on his 54th birthday, July 14, 2020. He was the husband of Margie Marie Gehrke Hanna, who blessed him with a ready made family when they married 20 years ago: Johnny Gehrke (Stephanie), Chris Mason (Lesliegh), Lee Mason (Amanda), Paul Mason (Cynthia) and Teresa Beaugez (Beau).

Ron was known by many names: Ron Pat, Ron Jon, and R.J. But his two favorites to answer to was Papa or Grumpy Papa. Ron loved to baby sit and spend time with his grandchildren: Ethan, McKenzie, Jax, Cheyenne, Halle, Koen, Avery, Kyrstin, Kaden, Kooper, Saylor, Mayleigh, Khloe, Kensley and Klara.

He is also survived by his parents, Dennis K. Hanna Sr. and Diane Marie; his siblings: Teri Mitchell (Michael), Dennis K. Hanna Jr. (Kathy), Alicia D. Peterson (Micheal); and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored him. Ron traveled the world with his family as an Air Force brat to places such as Missouri, Minnesota, Michigan, Iran, Texas, Colorado, Mississippi and Hawaii. He was born at Whiteman AFB, MO, graduated from Radford High School, Honolulu and then settled back on the beautiful Gulf Coast.

As traveled as Ron was, he was never more at home than he was with friends and family barbequing. He had no patience for restaurants, nor did they for his boisterous attitude. Loud and outdoors was his joy.

He was a great helper, it could be mow a yard, give a ride, build a deck, move furniture, it could be anything, Ron would be game. He also loved NASCAR and the Pittsburg Steelers.

Ron worked as storekeeper at Ingall’s Shipbuilding. He talked often of his coworkers and their support.

The family requests your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. They will be holding a private celebration of his life at a later date.
