Lonnie Jefferson Myrick passed peacefully from this life to his eternal Home in Heaven on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at River Chase Village in Gautier, Mississippi at the age of 80.

He is survived by his sons -- Robby Myrick (Sheryl) of Pascagoula MS, Danny Myrick (Megan) of Nashville TN, Jeff Myrick (Debra) of Franklin TN; Grandchildren -- Blaire Myrick of Nashville TN, Christian Myrick (Breanna) of Birmingham AL, Cameron Myrick of Pascagoula MS, Caleb and Brayden Myrick of Nashville TN, and Anna, Stewart, and Silas Myrick of Franklin TN. He is also survived by his former spouse and our beloved Mom, Rosemary Holifield Myrick Garst (Bob) of Mt. Olive AL, one brother Milton Myrick (Oneida, deceased), nephews Michael Myrick and Stephen Myrick (Pam), and niece Venessa Farragut (Myles), all hailing from Laurel MS, as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Lonnie grew up in Shady Grove community of north Laurel MS, attended Shady Grove schools, earning multiple state level FFA and 4-H Club awards, and then followed the call to Gospel preaching ministry at 19 years of age. He graduated from Jones Junior College Ellisville MS, studied Bible and Theology at Southeastern Baptist College Laurel MS and at William Carey College Hattiesburg MS. He pastored Baptist churches throughout Mississippi and preached evangelistic revival services across the Southeastern and Midwest United States alongside his family Gospel singing group known as The Rosetones. He was befriended by pastors and evangelists of various denominational groups and was well known for his love of Southern Gospel music and promotions during the 1970s and 80s. Many people came to faith in Christ under his preaching ministry and countless believers have expressed their love and condolences to our family throughout his final days here.
Our family wishes to express immense gratitude to the staff of loving and dedicated caregivers at River Chase Village and Notre Dame Hospice.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, Immediate Family Only will gather for a private memorial very soon. A public Celebration of Life for Lonnie Myrick will be scheduled and announced across all media platforms when church gatherings are once again permitted by State and Local authorities.
A live stream will be provided. In lieu of flowers, the Family recommends Donations to your favorite Charity or Ministry -- In Loving Memory of Lonnie Myrick
