Linda Ann Reid Bailey, age 70, beloved wife, mother and NeNe, a resident of Long Beach, MS, passed away on July 16, 2020 in Gulfport, MS.
Mrs. Bailey was a life-long resident of Long Beach. She graduated from Harrison Central High School and attended college. She retired in 2014 from United Site Services.
She enjoyed spending time and cooking with family, shopping, motorcycle riding, camping, and competitive swimming. She officiated for competitive swimming, including: High School - Meet Referee; League - Championship Meet Referee; SURF - Meet Administrative Referee, Meet Deck Referee, Co-Meet Director including 11 State Championships and on the Board of Directors; MS Swimming - Finance Chairman, Officials Chairman, Referee at State Championships, Chaperone for MSI Zone Team, Stroke/Turn official at Zone Meet, Team Manager for MSI Zone Team, and awarded the Phillips Award for Outstanding Service to MSI; and USA Swimming Convention Delegate representing MS Swimming.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God, Gulfport; to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Leonard Reid; her mother, Eurselene Rose Reid; her sister, Susan Diane Reid; and her nephew, Leonard Wayne Reid, Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Richard Bailey of Long Beach, MS; her children, Brian (Sara) Bailey of Sumrall, MS, and Richelle (Travis) Bybee of Diamondhead, MS; her grandchildren, Ella and Bryce Bailey of Sumrall, MS, and Juliet, Reid and Tanner Bybee of Diamondhead, MS; and her siblings, Leonard Wayne Reid, Sr., of Petal, MS, and Norma Jean (Carl) Moran of Long Beach, MS; and a host of other family members including nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews, great-great-nieces & nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
Visitation and services will be held on Monday, July 20th at the First Assembly of God, 2600 22nd Ave., Gulfport. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. with the Funeral Service following at 11 a.m.
Linda will be laid to rest at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach.
Out of respect for the current pandemic, masks are required for those attending and social distancing is asked to be followed.
