Leighton Parten

Doug Parten, age 74, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020 in Pass Christian at his residence.

He was retried after serving 24 years in the United States Navy Seabees. He was a faithful friend of Bill W. The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Stephanie Fussell and Canon Hospice nurses David and Vicki. An incredibly special thank you to Chaplain Craig Ladner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tallie Parten and Mattie Smith Parten; brother, Joe Parten.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Martha Parten; son, Clay Parten (Paula); daughter, Lori Parten (Byron), son, Larry Parten (Abby); 5 grandchildren, Olivia Cline (Brandon), Rachel Owen, Caleb, Lillie, and Bryce Parten; brother, Billy Parten; sister, Louise Sheffield (W.D.).

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and Mississippi State Board of Funeral Service guidelines a private family service will be held. A burial will be held at Long Beach City Cemetery.
