Henry Jay Brumbaugh, age 86, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Biloxi.
Mr. Brumbaugh served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1948 and after serving he worked for 6 years for Standard Oil of Kentucky. He then went to work for Sears Service Parts Dept. on Highway 90 in Gulfport and retired after 30 years of service.
Henry was a craftsman and loved creating things and was a 2nd generation boat builder. His specialty was repairing antique lawnmowers. He enjoyed helping other people, working on small engines and helping his sons on their projects. Henry was a friend to all and all those who knew him, loved and admired him dearly. He will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis Jay Brumbaugh and Martha Gill Brumbaugh; brother, Earl Brumbaugh; and a very special uncle, Alonzo Brumbaugh.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ethel P. Brumbaugh of Gulfport; sons, Jerry Brumbaugh and Darryl Brumbaugh, both of Gulfport, and an extended family. He is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy (John) Sutera of Ocean Springs and Vivian Cotten of San Angelo, TX.
The Funeral Service will be at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 19 where friends may visit from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport. Burial will follow at Free Church of God Cemetery.
