Helen Bermudez

February 29, 1924 — July 8, 2020

Gulfport

Helen Francis Bermudez, age 96, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2020 at Boyington Nursing Home in Gulfport.

She was born on a Leap Year in 1924, so she never would claim to be as old as she really was. She was a homemaker most of her life, but for a few years she would babysit for those who worked. She would also cook the best meals for them and even clean and would do extra things for them. This was just like her to want to make people happy in everything she did. She was a survivor and would tell me stories of how she was struck by lightning twice while hanging clothes out on a wire clothes line, but we think it struck the clothes line. However, she survived scarlet fever when she was young, and in her 50’s, she survived colon cancer. Today at 96 years old, the Lord said, “Well done, my faithful servant. It’s time for you to come Home to your Heavenly place and rest with Me.”

Helen was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Temple; her father, William Temple; her brothers, William Leon Temple, Paul Temple, James Temple, Eric Temple; and her sister, Willa Clark.

She is survived by her brother, Thomas Temple; her sister, Thelma Lowry; her son, Albert Bermudez, Sr. (Sandra); her daughter, Linda McClendon-Blue (Ken); her grandchildren, William Bermudez (Pam), Keith Bermudez, Sheldon McClendon (Jarika), Joshua McClendon (Madelyn), and Bobby McClendon; her great-grandchildren, Laura Bermudez, Heather Wyatt, Brendon Bermudez, A. J. Bermudez, Baylee Wood, Dolan McClendon, Caedon McClendon, kyeson McClendon, Leah McClendon, Hayes McClendon, Austin McClendon, Braydon McClendon, and Kayla McClendon; her great-great grandchildren, Devin, Christopher, Aidyn, Brealynn, Eastyn, Finley, and Waelon.

She was a loving caring person and would help anyone in need. She loved her family and would speak fondly of them often. May she Rest In Peace.
