Gerald F. “Jerry” Gardner, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2020 in Gulfport, MS.

He was born in Louisiana and raised in Moss Point, MS. He was a graduate of Moss Point High School. After graduation he joined the U S Navy. After the Navy, he enrolled at Perk where he met Norma, his wife. He later attended USM and graduated from William Carey and played football.

Jerry was a coach and taught Biology at Harrison Central and was responsible for the football program. He later worked as a scientist for US Dept. of Agriculture and retired from the EPA at Stennis Space Center after 32 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Dease Gardner.

He is survived by his children, Cynthia Gayle Sharp and Gerald F. “Jerry” Gardner, Jr. (Kathi); and his grandchildren, Sean Arland Sharp (Krystle) and Grayson Rae Sharp (Ruth).

The graveside service will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 1:30 pm in the Biloxi National Cemetery.
