~~Douglas R. "DR" Ladnier, age 97, of Long Beach, passed away on September 1, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Etta Marie Ladnier; his parents, William "Bill" Ladnier and Josephine Ladnier; a sister, Thelma Austin; 2 brothers, William Ladnier and Clarence Allen; and a great-grandchild, Raemi Gundlach.
Survivors include his children, Ronald Ladnier, Samuel (Margaret) Ladnier, and Ralph (Rebekah) Ladnier; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was a lifelong resident of Long Beach and he served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. He retired from the Gulfport VA after 33 years of service. He enjoyed rabbit hunting, talking NASCAR with Mike, and fishing with his wife, especially at Shy Hammock Creek.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, from 10 am - 12 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. The funeral service will be at 12 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Conn Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Dixie White House for their care of Mr. Ladnier.
