Charles ""Jack"" Upchurch, age 83, of Gulfport passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 in Gulfport.
Mr. Upchurch is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Edna Upchurch; and his three sisters Wydell Dooley, Dorothy Pitts, and Lillian Ruth Hosey.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Margaret E. Upchurch; his son Ronnie (Theresa) Upchurch of Cookeville, TN; his brother Jim Upchurch of Petal, MS; his granddaughter Lauren Sturgill; and his great grandson Ethan Sturgill.
Mr. Upchurch was an active member of Burton Memorial United Methodist Church, Gulfport and a youth counselor at the church for many years. He worked with Gulfport Paper Company and Coast Materials in the sales department.
The funeral service will be held at Burton Memorial United Methodist Church, Gulfport on Friday, October 3, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation for family and friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the church. The burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport.
