C. Gregory Carney, age 56 and a resident of Gulfport, died on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, in Gulfport.
Greg was a longtime resident of the MS Gulf Coast, was a member of the Baptist faith, and was a lifelong parrot-head. He was a 1976 graduate of Gulfport East High School and a 1981 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi where he received a degree in Architectural Technology, and was also a member of the Phi Kappa Fraternity. He was owner of C.G. Carney Associates in Gulfport. Greg was a wonderful and loving father, son, brother, and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Dianne Mozingo.
Greg is survived by his children, Gregory D. Carney and Caroline Carney both of Gulfport; his parents, Charles E. & Margie Delaney Carney of Gulfport; his brother-in-law, Dan Mozingo of Gulfport; his nephews, Paul Polito of Gulfport and Trent Mozingo of Cartersville, GA and ""the girls"", Tasha and Precious.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 2pm at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery in Gulfport.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101-9950 or to The University of Southern Mississippi, Alumni Association, 118 College Drive, #5013, Hattiesburg, MS 39406-0001.
