Betty Jones

Betty Lane Cox Jones, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, May 18 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martha and William Cox. Betty was married for 62 years to Robert "Bob" Jones until his passing in November of 2010.

Betty and Bob moved from Natchez, MS to Gulfport with their two children in 1965. They were members of First Baptist Church for 30 years until moving their membership to Trinity United Methodist Church.

Betty enjoyed garden clubs, bridge clubs, reading, sewing, and spending time with family and friends. Her children, grandchildren, and all of their friends affectionately called her "Lady." She was, in fact, a very special lady to everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her two children, Wayne Jones (Bobbie), and DeeAnn Stafford (Don); six grandchildren, Butch Jones (Elizabeth), David Jones (Angie), Sam Jones, Luke Jones, Allison Sala (Alan), and Garlon Pemberton (Kaysha); 9 great-grandchildren, William Jones, Lizza Lane Jones, Colton Jones, Brewer Jones, Laney Sala, Tucker Sala, Tripp Sala, Hayden Pemberton, and Parrish Pemberton.

The family would like to thank her caregiver Stephanie Hansen for her love and dedication, as well as Southern Care Hospice for their wonderful nursing care.

A private family memorial celebrating Lady's life will be held at a later time.
