Andrew “Andy” Maxwell Cutler, age 72, of Gulfport, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019.
Andy was a native of Meridian and a long-time resident of Gulfport. He graduated in 1966 from Meridian High School and in 1970 from Mississippi State University. He worked in the Governor’s Division of Job Development and Training under Gov. Waller and Gov. Winter, where he was the Interim Director. He then worked as Chief Executive Officer with Gulf Coast Business Services, retiring with a disability in 1992.
Andy was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Meridian and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Gulfport. He served in the Rotary Club, he received the Paul Harvey Award, he served as chairman of the State Personnel Board and he served on the Federal Grand Jury.
The family would like to express their appreciation to all of his long-time friends in Meridian, Jackson and the Gulf Coast, and special thanks to his special friend, Robert Langlois. Also a special thanks to his physicians, Dr. Jay Segarra, Dr. Brian Dix, Dr. Joel Burwell and Dr. Shah.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Cutler; his mother, Grace Cutler; his step-mother, Josephine Cutler; and his brother, Harry Wayne Cutler.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Sandi Cutler of Gulfport; and his sister, Mary Ann Parrent (Tony) of Silver Springs, MD.
Visitation will be held from 12 Noon to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 2nd with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
